80th Venice International Film Festival

Cinemeccanica, as part of the renewed technical sponsorship agreement of the 80th Venice International Film Festival – La Biennale di Venezia which will take place from 30 August to 9 September 2023, will guarantee the organization the technological equipment for the projections in the theatres which will be used during the event and will provide highly qualified resources to support the operators of the Venice Film Festival.
La Biennale di Venezia and Cinemeccanica have decided to give a new “green” imprint to the projection equipment and therefore half of the 14 projectors that will be supplied for this edition of the Venice Film Festival will be equipped with laser light sources.
Alongside the energy savings (-50%) that this solution guarantees, compared to light sources based on xenon lamps, the laser system can reproduce a wider range of brilliant and natural colours and an even distribution of light with uniformity greater than 95%.
7 of the 10 theatres will use projectors with laser light sources, starting the technological transition that will bring the presentation of contents aligned with the technologies currently being implemented in the cinemas.
Once again, the screening of the movies in competition and in presentation will be managed by Cinemeccanica TMS STREAMER that grants by data direct streaming the projection of the contents stored in the central server, simultaneously in multiple cinema halls.
